From pen on paper to a real product
Vintter is a cup warmer company that specializes in keeping to-go paper cups warm.
It all started with Starbucks coffee. Preparing for a long drive one day, I bought a coffee to enjoy on my way, but, as always, within 15-20 minutes, it had cooled off, and I was left with not warm enough cup of joe. I thought that there must be a device that would keep my coffee warm in the car, but after doing some research, I discovered that car cup warmers generally received bad reviews because they were too big and clunky to be useful.
Then, I saw an advertisement for a luxury car with built-in heating and cooling for the cup holders. That was a great solution, but, of course, most of us don’t drive luxury cars. So, I decided to build a prototype of a cup warmer that fits in a standard car cup holder and maintains the cup holder’s functionality while also keeping the drink inside it warm. My goal was to create a device small enough to fit in all cup holders as well as being compatible with most sizes of to-go paper cups.
So, I decided to build a prototype of a cup warmer that fits in a standard car cup holder and maintains the cup holder’s functionality while also keeping the drink inside it warm. My goal was to create a device small enough to fit in all cup holders as well as being compatible with most sizes of to-go paper cups.
The first prototype I made didn’t work.
The bottom of the cup should sit on the warmer’s heating area, and the edge of the cup should sit on the 4 switches. The heating function worked fine, but the cup was not stable when the car was in motion. I realized that the bottom of a paper cup was not strong enough to keep the cup stable with my design, so I returned to my drawing board to develop a device that could maintain the functionality of the warmer and the cup.
With my new plan, I created another prototype, and this time it worked perfectly. It is a simple, smart device that operates without any buttons, screens, displays, or switches.
All you need to do to activate the device is to put the cup on the warmer; that’s it. The warmer will switch off as soon as you remove the cup from the warmer.
I tested my device over hours of driving and was so pleased with it. Then, I started showing it to to-go coffee drinkers, and their feedback was wonderful. That’s when I knew I was moving forward.
Next, I found a great company in China that specializes in cup warmers. I have started working with them, and I am very happy with the partnership.
We are already working on a warmer for coffee shops to keep online orders warm. We are also working on an innovative device for keeping beverages warm in the office and at home. This new hybrid device will work with to-go paper cups and regular mugs.
We have many plans, but they’re all based on our primary goal: to help people keep their drinks warm everywhere, all the time, and with any type of cup. Each beverages’ warmth represents the fire that drives us to succeed.
